What Causes Stomach Ulcers?

Stomach ulcers are very painful. It is basically a sore that develops a lining on the esophagus, stomach or the intestines.

How does it develop?
Our stomach manufactures a gastric juice which contains hydrochloric acid, mucus and an enzyme, called "pepsin".

Pepsin breaks down protein in the food into simpler substances.
Sometimes, the mixture of pepsin and acid acts on the wall of the digestive tract and the result is a peptic ulcer.
So the more the acid, the more the interaction and more the ulcers are produced.
These ulcers usually develop in the walls of the stomach.

When there is a higher concentration of hydrochloric acid in the body, a person develops such ulcers. People who are tense, ambitious and hard-driving are more likely to develop peptic ulcers than those who are very calm.

So it is suggested to you to never worry or be sad. Life is there for you to enjoy.

Smoking May make an ulcer even worse. That's why it is told to stop smoking. There are a lot of reasons for it.

When a person has a peptic ulcer, the doctor prescribes a diet of soft food with a lot of milk and cream and the patient is needed to take a lot of rest and avoid hypertension or worry.

Ulcers are not serious if you are a kind, calm and "living the life" person. So, live your life and I hope you learned something new today in Biology!
