Multi-Faces Of The Moon | Phases Of The Moon

Our Moon is one of the essential space object which helps us see in the night time. And if you want to know more about  Our Own Moon | Science Specials Week S01 E15 click here and to know about all the moons in the Solar System Planets And Their Natural Satellites click here!

Have you ever noticed that the Moon changes its shape all the time? Sometimes Half and sometimes A Full Circle and sometimes nowhere to be found? So today let's explore the Phases of the Moon!

The most important thing is the Moon's orbit is tilted by 5 Degrees and this is what makes all the Phases of the Moon to occur. And the Moon takes approximately 27 days to revolve round the Earth but 29 days to come back to a Full Moon.

Here is an illustration representing the different phases of the Moon.

First is the Full Moon, which reflects the light from the sun and looks as a complete circle.

Then is the Waxing Gibbous which looks like 1/4th of the moon's left part is taken out.

Then is the First Quarter where only the right face will be visible.

Then Waxing Crescent which looks like 3/4th of the moon's left part is taken out.

Now, the New Moon where...No moon will be there!

So, now we have Waring Crescent which looks like 3/4th of the moon's right part is taken out.

Then is the Third Quarter where only the left face will be visible.

Then is the Warning Gibbous which looks like 1/4th of the moon's right part is taken out.

Now, again we have the Full Moon!

Do you Know? A month is calculated when a Full Moon again appears. And Many festivals are celebrated by the phrases of the moon.

~Thank You~

    1. Yes...While we talk about Moon we tell Phases. Not use Faces.
