Creation Of New Materials | Inventions S01 E06

New materials are useful for inventing new things! If we combine two already existing materials we get a new material and it has a combined advantage of both materials. And today we are going to see a few new materials and its usage. So get relaxed and lets dive in!

The Stainless Steel which was invented by Harry Brearley. He found that the iron in steel did not rust in water when a metal Chromium was mixed to it. Now we use them in kitchen utensils and wash them as many times you wish to.

The Plastic is used in a wide range of products because it is light, strong, non-reactive, long lasting, easy to mold, cheap, can be easily produced on large scale in factories, few plastics can be recycled by reheating them and molding them again into new products and does not rust.

The Plate Glass was made by Alistair Pilkington in the year 1952. He melted glass pieces and poured it on liquid tin then when he cooled it he got a hard, smooth sheets of plate glass. These are used in building, etc.
