History Of Transportation | How Transports Changed The World | Inventions S01 E05

People always wanted to travel faster and farther. We traveled in Water, Air, Road and even build Rails and went on it. So lets dive in and start our engines and see the history of transportation.


Water
The First boats which was with sails appeared in Egyptian drawings about 3500 B.C. ago. Then the sailors traveled long distances and learned to steer their ships using the position of the stars.


Air
The Wright Brothers (Wilbur and Orville Wright) built the first plane that flew in the air in the year 1903. They built a Double-wing plane called the Flyer and managed to stay in air for 59 seconds and proved that traveling in air is possible.


Road
The first cars were built by Karl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler, in Germany in the year 1890s. The cars were called as Horseless Carriages and it reached speeds of 20 Km/h.


Rail
The first steam engine trains were used to carry coal from coal mines but in the year 1830 the British engineer George Stephenson made the first passenger rail line and invented the first passenger train know as Rocket steam locomotive.
