Inside The Cell | Science Specials Week S01 E05

Now what is inside a Cell?

There are specialized structures within the cells which are called as Organelles

And these Organelles float on the Cytoplasm (A thick solution that fills each cell and is enclosed by the cell membrane). There are many Organelles and Today we will cover them all!

First is the Nucleus which as the Genetic Information (DNA which is inside the Chromosomes) inside the Nucleolus which is on the Nucleoplasm which is inside the Nucleus. And it controls the Cell.

Now Endoplasmic Reticulum which carry out information around and outside the Cell.
There are 2 types one is Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum and Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum.

  • Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum:
1. Stores important ions like Sodium Ions to generate Energy.
2. Involved in the breakdown of toxins.
3. Manufacturing of Lipids (Lipid is a fat molecule and almost all Cell parts are made up of Lipids).

  • Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum:
These structures have a round shaped organelles known as Ribosomes and these Ribosomes makes Proteins and this process is called Protein Synthesis.

Next stop to the Post Office of the Cell which is Golgi Apparatus. The Golgi Apparatus takes Proteins and sometimes converts them into other forms of Protein and sends them inside and outside the cell.

The Recycling Unit of the Cell which is the Lysosomes! It has special Proteins, which breaks the components of the Cell for Cellular Digestion.

Now to the Power Plant of the Cell "Mitochondria" which produces the Energy Unit known as ATP (Adenosine Tri Phosphate). If there are more folding in Mitochondria it results in more surface area which results in more Respiration.
Mitochondria can divide on its own and it also has small amount of DNA. And it is only present in the Egg Cell of Mother.

Now to the last stop of the Animal Cell which is the Vacuole it stores water in it. But the Animal Cells have really small Vacuole. But the Plant Cells have bigger Vacuole which provides them Rigidity.

Now to the special Organelle which is only found in the Plant Cell which is known as Plastids. And Plant Cell have a special type of Plastid known as Chloroplasts.

~Thank You!~
I hope you enjoyed the ride!
