Hello there! Are you ready for an amazing journey to a crazy scientific series? Welcome, to the Enlightened Wisdom: Smart SCIENCE'S, What If...? Scientific Doubts Series! Here you will find answers to some crazy questions that you think is mind blowing! Welcome! So, let's start!

What If...? Specials | EP.01 | What If Dinosaurs Never Went Extinct?

----------------
Okay, So Let's Begin!
So, one of the most curious type of What If to begin with is, What if, dinosaurs never went extinct?
Well, for starters, it is very easy to say, that humans wouldn't have even survived till date if those humongous giants didn't got extinct!

Why?
Now, see we can not say that the extinction of those dinosaurs was intentional or a co-incident. All we can say about their extinction is that its all the play of the Mother Nature.

How? Any Theory?
But, yeah! One thing we do really know is that, How did they got extinct? Yes, now, majority of the world excepts the great asteroid that hit the earth around the times of dinosaurs. Some, even believe that there must be a volcanic eruption. But what fascinates the most, is that, scientists have found pieces of some asteriod-ish type of rock material which seems to be as old as the time of the dinosaurs. This made majority of the scientists believe that the asteroid theory of dinosaur extinction is true. But for now, we'll except both of the theories. And as we all know, dinosaurs are predicted to be of around 245 million years ago! How? Well, the answer is their fossils, yes!

Dinosaurs, Tell Me More!

Dinosaurs are a diverse group of reptiles of the clade Dinosauria. They first appeared during the Triassic period, between 243 and 233.23 million years ago, although the exact origin and timing of the evolution of dinosaurs is the subject of active research. They became the dominant terrestrial vertebrates after the Triassic–Jurassic extinction event 201.3 million years ago; their dominance continued throughout the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. The fossil record shows that birds are modern feathered dinosaurs, having evolved from earlier theropods during the Late Jurassic epoch, and are the only dinosaur lineage to survive the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event approximately 66 million years ago. Dinosaurs can therefore be divided into avian dinosaurs, or birds; and the extinct non-avian dinosaurs, which are all dinosaurs other than birds.

What If?
So, now we know 2 things. One, how did the dinosaurs went extinct, that is by two theories. And Second, that what are dinosaurs. So, now as we know these two important things, we are now in a position to tackle our today's What If...?
What If Dinosaurs Never Went Extinct?
"If dinosaurs didn't go extinct, mammals probably would've remained in the shadows, as they had been for over a hundred million years"
"Humans, then, probably would've never been here."
Opinions vary in each case, but here, we know that if these dinos existed, then it is obvious that humans wouldn't had existed in the first place. We all thought dinosaurs as a threat to humans and it was very nice that they got extinct etc.

Now, what if the T-Rex was still alive today?
Among them was the most powerful terrestrial predator to have ever lived, the Tyrannosaurus rex. If T. rex were alive today, chances are they'd be an endangered species. Their terrifying reputation would be no match for the habitat loss, pollution, and food shortages caused by humans.

Well, it is very obvious to us humans that it is true, because dinos "where" kind off scavengers who "ate" either other small animals or dinos themselves.
But, what about the extinct animals who were killed and made to go to extinction by humans? We think ourselves lucky that dinos got extinct, but what about, let's say, a dodo for example, think about us humans when they were prone to extinction back in the past? They too thought that if humans never existed, they wouldn't go extinct.

So, I guess you got my point. Although this post refers to the extinction of dinosaurs but if we try to understand and co-relate it in one sense, we understand that poaching animals is a bad idea, because they have a life too. Man, understand, no one owns a life. I don't mean humans are always wrong, but, humans should strictly stop the hunting of animals for their goods.
At the end of the day, we understand, if dinosaurs never got extinct, then humans would have probably got wiped off out of Earth. And just for the sake of moral type endings, AVOID HUNTING.
So, This was the blog of the month - November's What If...?
I hope you'll appreciate the idea of how we evolved and lived on this planet Earth.
