Climate Change: Are We At A Point Of No Return?
Our home earth is burning. Though being aware of what haphazard we've created, we humans still are not taking the issue of climate change seriously.
Now that doesn't mean that humans have did nothing to save our climatic conditions. In fact, we have done quite a lot of good things in the recent times to save our environment. But the problem is, even if we put tremendous efforts to save our earth, there are many people out there who are not at all bothered for our planet and they just do mistakes that destroys our efforts for the environment and then, the problem gets stuck!
So, what shall we do before its too late? Thanks to us humans, we have created the situation this worse, that scientists are now in a doubt of whether are we at a position to comeback from our current climatic situations or this situation is going to get even worse. And now I ask you a question that don't you think that humans themselves are vanquishing themselves and then, after the problem gets serious, they start stressing out on the topic and even then, instead of finding a solution, they just debate and blame each other. And at the end, the problem gets even more dangerous and then, the game gets over. So are we moving towards our last straw?
Okay, so when we talk about this nuisance phenomenon called climate change, what comes to our mind is the Earth which is getting warmer due to our global glitches. Now I might be wrong if I say ONLY due to OUR glitches. The Nature, as well, contributes a little bit to this hectic problem.
Frankly speaking, climate change refers to long term shifts in weather patterns and temperatures globally. Since the 1800's human activities have been the main driver of the climate change. There are many factors that cause the climate change. And this issue has been a serious concern over the last two decades.
Since the industrial revolution, human activities have emitted a large amount of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. Natural processes such as change in sun's energy and volcanic eruptions are also one of the causes of the climate change.
So, now, what happens if climate change affects our earth's climate? Well, this is where people get ticked off on this topic. The disasters caused by climate change are: Threatened Food Productions, rising sea levels that cause catastrophic flooding, death and illness from extreme weather events such as heatwaves, storms, floods etc.
Now there are four phases of thoughts that developed over the years for the topic of climate change.
Phase 1: Climate change isn't real as it was a new idea to humans and they just neglected it as they thought nothing great would happen.
Phase 2: Somehow, people figured out that climate change is real but it's not caused by humans. So instead of finding a solution, they were finding someone to blame.
Phase 3: After all that nonsense, people finally figured out that climate change is real and is caused by humans, but it's not that bad.
Phase 4: Finally, we all understood that this is now a serious issue. Climate change is no longer avoidable. We are doomed and it doesn't matter whatever we do.
Now the last chunk of this post is about what you can do as an individual. You can: save energy at home, walk, cycle, or take a public transport, consider your travel, throw away less food, reduce, reuse, repair, recycle or just switch to an electric vehicle etc.
There's still a hope alive. It is not completely correct to say that we are at a point of no return from our climatic situations. If everyone follows and contributes their part to the environment, we can still live to see a happy and prosperous world.
As there's a saying that you can never plan the future by the past. Only you can plan your future. Rise, Speak And Act.
